Vince has been hand carving signs since 1981. He is largely self-taught but has studied with Master Sign Carver Paul White, of Sandwich, Massachusetts. He has carved large commercial signs, such as those for municipalities and businesses (Rhinebeck Fire Department, Red’s Restaurant, and the Villages of Catskill, Coxsackie, and Athens) as well as small desk name plates and residential signs. Many of his carvings are finished in 23K gold leaf.
As the demand for the handcrafted artistry of signage changed, Vince began to apply his gold-leafing skills to stone monuments as a way for families to honor the memory of their loved ones. His work can be seen in cemeteries across the Hudson Valley.
Being a dog lover, Vince also realized that pet parents wanted a way to showcase their furry family members and memorialize those companions that have passed. To do this, he has begun to offer hand carved pet name signs, complete with a photo. Alongside these offerings has also added custom pallet art as a way to create one a kind pieces that showcase your favorite pet, hobby, interest, sports team, or anything else you can think of.
Vince is dedicated to quality and craftsmanship. He uses only the finest materials; exotic hardwoods, 23 karat gold leaf and the highest quality paints, stains and finishes. And of course, all work is done by hand.
Vince is a long-time resident of Coxsackie, New York and continues to reside there with his wife, Christine. He has two grown children. When he's not creating unique pieces for his customers, he enjoys spending time with his Cockapoo and his daughter's Siberian Husky, both of whom have been subjects of his work.
